US, European Parts In North Korea Missile Fired By Russia In Ukraine; Putin Slams Space Nukes Charge

In January 2024, a North Korean ballistic missile launched by the Russian military in Ukraine reportedly included components from US and European companies. The findings mark the first public identification of North Korea’s reliance on foreign technology for its missile program. This also highlights an ongoing challenge for the US in preventing affordable Western microelectronics from reaching North Korea, Iran and Russia. A UK-based investigative organisation directly examined 290 components from the remnants of a North Korean ballistic missile recovered from Ukraine.
