China accused Japan of being "two-faced," claiming Tokyo seeks a strategic relationship with Beijing while exaggerating the "China threat theory" in the US. Kishida’s comments were described as “a severe provocation” in a statement from the Chinese embassy in Japan. Meanwhile, US says no reason for China to feel threatened.
